O’Neill Community Foundation Fund Awards Grant to the O’Neill Rod and Gun Club

The O'Neill Rod and Gun Club received a grant from the O'Neill Community Foundation to help improve accessibility for the facility.

Last year during the High School Trap season, one of the members of the North Central Trap Team required a wheelchair to get around. Due to the lack of easily navigable surfaces for him, he had to be pushed by a teammate or parent from the Club House to the trap or skeet fields. It was important for them to improve accessibility for him and others in our community.

This has greatly improved the accessibility of the outdoor ranges. Members can now go from the clubhouse to every shooting station on a paved service. They also have several older shooters who greatly appreciate the better walking surfaces that diminish the chances of them tripping.

The O’Neill Rod and Gun Club continues to improve and modernize their grounds, this grant is a big step in the right direction. They will continue to make sure that anyone who wants to participate in shotgun sports, can, no matter what their physical abilities are.

The O’Neill Community Foundation strives to enrich the quality of life in the O'Neill area both today and in the future. To learn more about the many local organizations that have benefited from the O’Neill Community Foundation or to donate, visit www.oneillcommunityfoundation.org
