ABOUT US
The O'Neill Community Foundation Fund was established in 1998 for the purpose of receiving, administering and disbursing funds for community betterment. The O'Neill Community Foundation Fund is an affiliate of the Nebraska Community Foundation. This enables the Foundation to insure that your gifts are fully tax deductible under the IRS.
Your donations to the Foundation can be used for specific purposes or gifted to the Foundation with the disbursement of proceeds to be determined by the local foundation advisory committee.
It is the responsibility of the advisory committee to insure that the proceeds from the O’Neill Foundation are invested back into the community in a prudent and accountable manner.
By continuing to build assets of the Foundation and using only the interest or investment return for projects, the Foundation can continue to grow its base. As its assets grow, so does the amount of money that can be used to fund community betterment projects in the O'Neill community. Donations can even help individuals with the assistance for childcare, housing, food and grocery, after school programs, and more.

O’Neill Community Foundation Fund Established Accounts
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
An account to provide support for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five.
General
An account used by the local Fund Advisory Committee to support and maintain the affiliated fund’s activities within the community.
Holt County Sheriff's Department
An account to provide support for public safety and the Holt County Sheriff's Department. The initial goal will be to provide financial assistance for a K9 Dog Unit to be used by the Holt County Sheriff's Department.
Irish Walk of Fame
An account to raise funds to support charitable activities or projects that celebrate the O'Neill community's rich Irish heritage. The first project to be supported will be an Irish Walk of Fame.
North Central Nebraska Performing Arts Program
The purpose of this account is to raise funds to support programming in the performing arts in North Central Nebraska.
O’Neill Law Enforcement Account
An account to provide support for public safety and the O’Neill Police Department in O’Neill, Nebraska. The initial goal will be to provide financial assistance for a K9 Dog Unit to be used by the O’Neill Police Department.
O'Neill Public Schools
An account to raise funds to help support the curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities of O'Neill Public Schools.
Shamrock
An account to maintain the green shamrock painted on the public street at the main intersection of downtown O’Neill. This shamrock is to commemorate the annual celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in O’Neill, the Irish Capital of Nebraska.
Unrestricted Endowment
Is a permanent account whose assets are invested to generate an ongoing source of income year after year. Investment earnings from the endowment are used to support community improvements and programs. The Fund Advisory Committee determines how the money generated from the endowment will be used to benefit the community now and in the future.
